What Causes Stiffness In Neck With Swelling In Lips And Eyes?

last week I woke up in the middle of the night with horrible chest pains and numbness in arm. I called 911, and my throat closed up almost completely. ECG normal, and they think heartburn. All week this week, I have tightness in neck, swollen eye, lips all of a sudden. Swells so much, I look horrible. I take Benedryl, but more of just waiting game. Can this ALL be related to my heartburn/acid reflux?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

- It is unlikely that this generalized swelling is linked to heartburn
- You probably experienced an allergic reaction to something. I would suggest you get skin prick tests for different allergens.
- If the swelling is still there, you should take some anti-histamines and get evaluated by a doctor in person

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
