What Causes Stiffness In Shoulder And Forearm?

I have recently noticed weakness in my right shoulder, forearm and hand. I thought I had picked up a heavy suitcase a couple of weeks back to carry it and put in the car, which had caused my hand to get stiff, but today I went to play squash, which I play regularly, and I could hardly play. I am 57 years old and have never had any such problem.

It is important consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and some tests:
- A cervical spine X-ray study
- Nerve conduction studies
