What Causes Stiffness In The Joints Of The Left Foot?
Doctors, I have over the last couple of weeks have joint stiffness, started in left foot (thought was gout) past Thursday left knee began to swell, hurt straightening & bending hard to stand and walk. Next day right knee same thing. Now right elbow hurts to touch and move slight redness. Had slight fever past weekend. Saw Doctor yesterday, did blood tests. Meds Prednisone 20mg, Eliquis 5mg. see Dr. next Wednesday. Thanks you Jeff Glass
Thanks for putting your query over here. Stiffness in the joints can be due to gout, rheumatoid arthritis or any other connective tissue or vascular disorders. Considering the scenario you described,I would recommend for getting blood test called anti nuclear antibodies, serum uric acid levels done for ruling out autoimmune disease. Depending upon what the blood test results are and some physical examination, further specific blood tests need to be done to point to a specific disease so that medications can be started accordingly.I hope your doctor must have done with all these basic investigations. Thanks and regards.
