Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had difficulty bending my right thumb for about three months. It started one morning when I got up and at first I thought it was out of joint because it was popping but now I think it might be a tendon. It is a little painful but not unbearable. I can use my other hand to move both joints in my right thumb and there is no popping or pain.
This might be from a trigger thumb or tendinitis. If simple analgesics like Paracetamol taken for 3-5 days does not help, kindly get it examined with an orthopedist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
