What Causes Stinging Sensation While Urinating And Cloudy Urine?

i think i had a bladder or urinary infection: stinging,slightly cloudy smelly urine. started almost a week ago ... not too distracting, never went to Dr. was going away yesterday. Also had excruciating back pain, but in lower back, where I have chronic discomfort over past 15+yrs. In fact i called osteo/massage therapist for my usual help call which is about every 3 months or so - interestingly timed about 3-4 days pre-menstrual period, so I figured it was that. Tonight, I wake u with strong ache in back, higher than usual & on one side, like I ve been punched. Also shivering uncontrollably! it is chilly, but I couldn t type 15 min ago... I m hoping not a kidney infection & plan to go to Dr. first thing tomorrow Funny coincidences or possibly serious?

Hello,

It sounds like pyelonephritis, I.e. an ascending bladder infection. You should go to the ER for further diagnostics and possibly intravenous antibiotics.
