What Causes Stomach Ache Followed By Mucousy Stool In Children?
good morning.. my son is 2 years 8 months old and for past 2 weeks on and off he has stomuch ache and has passed mucous in stool.. there was some fungal infection earlier but later he had no infection in the second test and was given neutrolin B syrup along with econorm and aristozyme drops.. he is also complaining of numbness in legs, i amd very worried, I have gotten the polio vaccination done.. Please advise if these symptoms are anyhow related to polio..
These symptoms need not be taken as polio related. Loose stools with mucus and abdominal pain might suggest acute gastroenteritis. If there is no fever or blood in stools, we need not worry much. Your doctor has already given probiotics. You can give her a course of Zinc also (give Z&D drops 1ml once daily for 2 weeks). If this does not help, let us get a stool routine examination done to look for any sign of infection. Also giving her yogurt / curd might help to some extent.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
