What Causes Stomach Bloating With Abnormal Bowel Movements?
I'm a 22 year old female, about 5 ft 2 in, 180 lbs. I have PCOS (which was discovered about a year ago by accident when I had a CT scan for a sudden intestinal flare up. they thought I had appendicitis but it turned out to be some sort of bacterial colitis which was treated with antibiotics) but the PCOS is not the issue I'm having at the moment. I live with pretty constant upset tummy (either very loose stool or often constipation)and the doctors have said it was irritable bowel for which they prescribed miralax on a pretty regular basis. I'm also on Metformin which is aside the fact of the issue. My BM's have been really loose the last couple of days and today I went to the bathroom and discovered a strange brittle stick in my bowel. It looked like a hard (perfectly straight) uncooked piece of spaghetti (color and all) and when i went to investigate it was very brittle and broke in to pieces. It was almost three inches long and I know for sure it is not something I ate, I avoid carbs and haven't had pasta in quite a while. I also have no idea how an item that size could make it all the way through my bowels intact... I often have pain on the right side of my body right where my large intestine bends and it has always been blamed on bloating due to slight IBS and/or lactose intolerance. This is also the spot which swelled up the worst during the colitis. Could this weird stick thing be a worm maybe... I just can't figure it out.
