What Causes Stomach Cramping/bloating With History Of Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth?

Hi dr I am 31, having stomach cramping, gas, bloating, extremely loud digestion and dark sticky stool. I was diagnosed with small bowel bacterial overgrowth a month ago. I took 10 days of flagyl and felt great on antibiotics. Normal stool etcetera, now 3 weeks later symptoms are back. What could be the problem?

Hello,

It is most likely due to residual infection in the intestine . I recommend to undertake basic lab tests and complete the course of antibiotics with prokinetics with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
