Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Stomach Cramps And Bloating Along With Excessive Hunger?
I have stomach cramps and lots of gurgling sounds. My stomach is bloated, and at times I experience great hunger. I am also experiencing fecal incontinence made worse by walking for long periods of time. I have been out of the country and wonder if I picked up some kind of stomach virus. I am drinking liquids but don't seem to urinate often enough given what I am drinking. My feet and ankles are also quite swollen. Thank you for any suggestions you can give me.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Bloating with hunger may be due to infection or Irritable Bowel syndrome or acute gastritis etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet pantoprazole before breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved please consult your endocrinologist he will do endoscopy and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
