Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have been having stomach problems for 4 days now. My stomach started bothering me the day after I had eaten some new take out pizza. The symptoms were lessening day 2 after eating the pizza, but by day 3 and through today, the symptoms have come back full force and will not get better. I have tried taking multiple over the counter stomach medicines which help for an hour or two but then the medicine stops working. My symptoms are constant stomach churning, cramping, bloating, bowel issues (diahhrea) sulfur burps and passing bad sulfur gas. My stomach will not stop gurgling loud enough for others to hear it when even standing next to me. I do also have times where I feel like I might vomit but I never do. I am able to keep food down but dairy makes my symptoms flair up again. I am just not sure what could be going on and I dont know if I should considering seeing a doctor for it.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
* As per the narration, the stomach issue of current intensity indicate underlying intestine infection through food poisoning via pizza.
* As the OTC medicines are not working, I recommend a straight forward visit to your family doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
