What Causes Stomach Discomfort And Nausea?

I have discomfort in my stomach just at the base of my sternam. this happens randomely and Lingers for some time. It makes me feel a bit nauseus . I have taken nexium for one month then a break for a week then another month as advised by my GP. This has not allieviated My problem. I am booked for a colonoscopy/endoscopy in one months time.

1) your symptoms suggest gastro-esophageal reflux disease, in which junction of stomach-esophagus is weak and allow stomach content to go up in esophagus which generally not occur
2) due to this esophagus is exposed to stomach content and develop reactionary inflammation, i.e. esohagitis. your symptom is due to this.
3) you need upper GI endoscopy only to confirm this diagnosis as there is no need for colonoscopy
