What Causes Stomach Pain, During Urination In Children ?

Hi, I hope so. My 5 year old daughter has been complaining of lower stomach pain when she urinates. She doesn't have a fever, but has complained for about a year off and on that it burns when she urinates or that her back hurts. I would treat it with lots of water or cranberry juice, but now she says her stomach hurts... and she seems to be in more pain than usual. What could be wrong?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think she is having a urinary tract infection. Cranberry juice or tea helps with disinfection but is not enough to treat the infection.
She may need to take antibiotics. I would prefer bactrim.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
