Hi, I've had some ongoing problems for nearly 2 years now. In a nutshell, it started with a sore throat and a couple of the lymph nodes under my chin were enlarged, then I felt really tired for several weeks, but other than that fine. My doctor did the usual tests etc and found I had at some stage had glandular fever, this had caused thyroiditis (with nodules after ultrasound scan and enlarging of the thyroid) A few months later I developed a feeling of sickness constantly, effecting my eating, sleeping etc, in total now I have lost 3 and a half stone and currently I am 14 stone and 6 feet tall, with a large build, aged 41 male. Along with the sickness and inability to eat I felt bloated constantly and my lips, face and under the jaw started to swell and tingle periodically. Over the last 9/12 months the sickness has gone and I eat a little better, but my tummy area is constantly hard and distended with at times severe pain in my stomach which spreads to around the ribs and shoulders at the back/front. Facial swelling still occurs frequently as does the thyroid enlargement (albeit relatively small goitre visibly). The last few months I also wake feeling incredibly thirsty. I've had gall bladder ultrasound, sigmoidoscopy and endoscopy explorations of stomach etc, and bowel along with barium x-ray of bowel, all normal, numerous blood tests. The only thing s found was thyoiditis and nodules and results pointing to glandular fever. Help!!
