Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband recently developed problems with early satiety when eating. He feels very full. He coughs a lot when eating. He feels like if he vomits it would help..but he cannot. There is no nausea, no change in bowels habits. He has had an u/s of the gallbladder, hida scan, ct of abd and pelvis, egd and colonoscopy. There was a lot of redness in the lining of his stomach and a lot of bile, and fatty liver..otherwise normal. My husband is not a baby when it comes to pain or illness..he has lost at least 20 pounds. What do we do now? He takes carafate and dexilant daily which helps a little.
It could be an inflamed fungal infection where one can see red lining on the stomach but it must be confirmed by proper clinical examination.
Fatty liver with nausea or vomiting are completely different which has no relation with this. . Fungal infections sometimes need a lot of time to get healed completely.
I would advice that you can either use the anti-fungal cream once the diagnosis is confirmed for 2 weeks to 4 weeks or as your doctors recommended.
Use just a moisturizing cream- because at this level the fungal may be so little that it becomes self limited if it is not under the aggravating factors like humidity.
He may continue with carafate and dexilant for gastic trouble.Consult some local physician for further advise.
Hope this is helpful.
Regards and take care,
