What Causes Stomach Tightness After Eating?

When I eat my stomach tightens & although I try to control it it tightens to the extent that it prevents me from breathing. I went for a small bowel series today but after drinking the barium within 30 mins it took its effect on me & I was rushed to the resuss team to try & get me breathing again. I have been on erythomycin which has stop my stomach going into spasm but hasn't prevented from tightening. I have been told to take liquidised foods only. I am diabetic & am scared of eating. What could be wrong? It is nothing to do with my diabetes - Are there no Gastroenterologists?
