What Causes Streaks Of Blood In Stool?

About 8 or so months ago I was traveling out of town and think I had a case of Ecoli but it resolved the next day after taking Peptobismol so I could at least make the drive back home. I was back to eating regular foods and feeling fine so I never went to the doctor. Every once in a while now I have streaks of blood in solid stool and am wondering if this is a complication of the possible E. coli?

Dear- thanks for using our system.Ecoli is a cause of traveler diarrhea and can cause rectal bleeding. It is important to get the adequate medical treatment to avoid complications, so it is advisable to see your doctor and get samples of your stools again. If you had the complete antibiotic treatment, you might have just an irritation from the prior infection, but if you have not had the complete antibiotic treatment, it might be why you are bleeding.
I hope that my advise will be helpful
