What Causes Stringy Stool With Some Blood When Diagnosed With Diabetes?

My husband - 80 year old, active and has been in good health. He has diabetes, treated with pills - no insulin. Recently, he hasn t felt too well. About two weeks ago, he started having unusual stools - kind of stringy, yellow in color and pasty and blood tinges. Any ideas?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

It seems to me that he has blood stools. This is not a good sign. In my opinion he needs close examination by his doctor who for sure would suggest a sigmoidoscopy test as the next step. Please talk with her or him.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
