What Causes Sudden Discomfort And Stiffness In Chest?

Today and one other time in the past two months, I experienced a sudden onset of discomfort in my whole chest area. It felt like my chest stiffened and I needed to breath slower. I had to lean against shelving at a grocery store because I felt weak. Both times, it passed in a minute or two.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, these symptoms should be evaluated by an EKG as well as cardiac examination by your primary care physician or a nearby emergency. Cardiac enzymes as well as echo-cardiogram may be needed. Even if it's not cardiac chest pain in the description you gave shouldn't be ignored or delayed without evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
