What Causes Sudden Headache Followed By Fainting?

my mother is 60 years old and she has no known health issues and has never passed out before. 2 days ago she said she was walking through the kitchen when everything started to seem distant and she said her head was pounding. Also she said everything went yellow. she said she heard herself
fall but doesn't remember anything after that. what could have happened to her

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are several reasons for faint. I recommend you to check her blood sugar because it may be an episode of hypoglycemia.

Also I can recommend you to do an EKG to see if there is any arrhythmia causing it.

If this two come negative then a visit with neurologist is needed to see if it has brain origin.
