What Causes Sudden Memory Loss In An Elderly Person?

My husband has memory lose but at times he has a good memory and when he is tired his memory is worse.. He is 82 and has had two open heart surgeries one when he was in his late 40 s and the second operation four years ago. Will he eventually have Alzheimer s disease, please help. Hello,
It is hard to know if he is getting Alzheimer's disease or if he is having small strokes that are causing some memory loss. Ask his doctor to refer him to a neurologist or memory specialist for some testing.
