What Causes Sudden Pain In Thigh While Kicking Ball?

Hello my name is Cesar i live in Woodland California and i love to play soccer i have been playing for about 4 years now and i recently have been training on my own to get in condition for Varsity soccer season, However about 2 weeks ago i was kicking the ball pretty hard (was practicing goalkicks) and my right thigh gets a very sharp pain and i can still pretty much run and jog but it hurts to kick the ball, What is wrong with it? I tried icing it and resting it for a week but it still hurts to kick

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Sharp pain while kicking could sign a hamstring spasm or tear, as it is on the inner side of the thigh. take rest apply ice, take analgesics and if it does not see improvement in few days consult your ortho doctor to investigate further and treat accordingly.
