What Causes Sudden Slurred Speech And Vomiting While Suffering From Cough?
My mother (78 yrs. old) had an episode at my home yesterday. She was sitting here, got warm, took off her sweater, extreme yawning, slurred speech, vomiting. She has had a dry cough for about a week or so now. She was admitted to the hospital, all kinds of test, nothing is showing up. She s not really hungry, they just today did a flu swab. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Dear is she got Fever??
In old age with sudden onset of fever possible causes are urinary tract infection or pneumonia or renal caliculi or cholicystitis etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use temperature chart, check for chest x-ray or urine examination, check for the drugs cause above symptoms.
If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care.
