What Causes Sudden Weight Loss Along With Low Platelet Count?

Patient (not me) with unexplained weight loss, low platelets, enlarged spleen. Liver MRI shows no tumor. Liver biopsy shows no portal hypertension. If (results still awaited) biopsy shows no liver cancer, what specialist should patient consult next? Hematology (lymphoma)?

Platelets are low because they are sequestered in the enlarged spleen. Need to look for the cause of enlarged spleen. I guess show to a good MD medicine guy and a good haematologist to look for any blood smear abnormalities
