What Causes Swelling And Itching On The Cheeks And Lips Of An Elderly Person?

Welcome to Ask a Doctor . Please type your question here... Hello, my father has a swelling on his cheeks, sometimes it’s on the lips. He says he doesn’t feel any pain only inching and then it swells. He has refused to go see a doctor since does not feel anything and after a few days it disappears. Please help me.

Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction.

I suggest using antihistamines daily such as Cetirizine.

I also suggest using Calamine lotion for local application.
