Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.Your swelling in fingers and thumb can be due to less movements and exercises of finger and thumb joint. You are advised active finger and thumb movements. These should not be so swollen. Analgesic such as ibuprofen may be useful for pain relief. You can discuss with your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help you.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
