What Causes Swelling And Stiffness Of Knee In A Diabetic Person?

Went to doctor blood work was negative for Lyme, this is 3rd time my knee has swollen to the point of stiffness. Now it s my other knee and my feet hurt very tender to touch, trouble walking, getting up from a chair. I gained a lot of wait so I have been dieting for 2 weeks, not crash no salt or junk. Hoping it was the cause of my symptoms. Symptoms are worse. My doctor is leaving practice and new doctor will be who on I see on my next appointment.

Hi, Your problems are related to your excessive weight which has worn off the joint cartilages of the knees resulting in osteoarthritis. This can also produce more fluid in the joint as a reaction to the damage.
Foot pain in diabetics is from inflammation to the nerves of the foot and is coupled with decreased blood flow.
All these leads to trouble getting off a chair and walking.
You need to address the two major concerns of
-poor diabetic control
-overweight
Eat the right foods staying off processed foods as much as you can.As walking will be difficult try water activities in a heated pool.and walk as much as possible with a tripod cane or walker using elastic knee supports and soft soled shoes.
If the knee is filled with fluid then this should be aspirated and sent for examination and cultures. No medications should be injected to the joint as this can aggravate the condition
