What Causes Swelling Bruise While Having Pvera?

I have been diagnosed with Pvera...yesterday I dropped a box on my foot which caused a bump, swelling and a bruise..I iced the foot and today the bump is gone and the bruise lightened in color but spread over the top of my foot...should this be something of concern with my condition?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Polycythemia vera is a myeloproliferative disorder characterized by proliferation of red blood cells leading to increased red blood cell mass, hemoglobin and hematocrit.
Besides red blood cells, platelets are also affected because red blood cells and platelets arise from same lineage.
Thus, consult your hematologist for clinical assessment complete hemogram and platelet parameters.

Thanks and take care
