What Causes Swelling In Body Parts In Diabetic People?

a friend of mine has diabetes--she has not taken the best care of herself in the past but is more determined now. She takes her insulin injections but they seem to result in a swelled abdomen as tho she has gained wgt. and she shereems to be swelling in other areas as well. she thinks is fluid. her sugar generally remains high. a need to worry?

dear sir I can understand your concern
I am very sorry about your friend condition
sugars being high inspite of taking insulin might be due to lack of diet control and lack of exersise
I suggest you to see your doc for readjustment of insulin dose
usually insulin will increase the weight but with good diet and exersise it can be kept in control
I suggest you to check your renal function
test.
