Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
11 year old son in the past two weeks have had swelling in the face and eyes at night well into the morning. Doctor ran blood test and found nothing, just a slight raise in blood protien indicating swelling, yet it was not high enough for alarm, even CT on sinuses..they were clear. I need a answer from someone because he is very uncomfortable, sleep is occassionally interupted however he is sleeping now due to fatigue. Oh and blood pressure is good also according to doctor. He is 100lb, 4"5in
Hi... If I were your treating pediatrician I would prefer to rule out nephrotic syndrome and it is best ruled out by dong a urine routine test and proving that there is no proteins in the urine. This presents with swelling of face and eye lids which get better as the day passes and will aggravate over night till morning. Glad that his BP is normal. Regards - Dr. Sumanth
