What Causes Swelling In The Feet After Suffering A Mild Stroke?

my mother, 83 years of age...had a mild stroke on Sep 20.....she is seeing a cardiologist.... also in rehab....she is not paralyzed....im concerned as her feet are a bit swollen.... she is now walking without a walker.... the swelling of the feet....is that due to possibly a heart condition? we have taken her salt away....she was a very healthy and active person, prior to this stroke. do we need to take her back in to cardiologist.... regards, Sarah Floch

Thank you for the question,

Is she on a medication known as amlodipine as that can cause feet swelling. If only the feet are swollen and not the legs usually its not something serious. Advise to wait and see what happens. If it gets worse and/or she gets short of breath then i suggest you see the cardiologist.
