Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have two swollen red lines along the inside arch of my foot from about the middle of the bottom towards the inside up to near or parallel to the ankle bone. They are sore all the time and painful to touch. They seem to follow a vein...I guess, my cousin noticed that part. But it started as soreness last night and now it is like a circular raised red line thing. The middle is white and not painful.
undue pressure on arches of foot or prolonged walking/exertion after over stress of weight on foot or tight footwear or faulty anatomy of foot may give swelling apart from injury. treatment is elevation of foot after contrast bath (alternate fomentation in hot and iced water alternating every minute for 10 minutes daily ). Keep the foot in front chair on sitting to keep it elevated and over cushions on lying down. wear soft soled footwear and take anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen/paracetamol two times daily after meals.Show an orthopedic doctor if unrelievd, so that xray is advised for further evaluation if necessary. normally, it will subside in few days
