What Causes Swelling Of Knee Which Increases On Activity?

ok - I have a swelling on the outside upper portion of my right knee. It has been there forever but is worse after activity or climbing stairs...I do ice/heat when I can but...I am sick of it. It is soft and when I push it, the other side of my knee moves (like a liquid movement). Thoughts? Getting ready to make a Dr. appt. but like to do my research first

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case. Condition which you are having right now is called knee effusion. This is due to either cartilage injury of the knee joint or it can be due to inflammation like Rheumatoid.
To confirm the diagnosis, you need to get MRI of the knee joint and aspiration of fluid and check up.
You can share that MRI report with me, If there is any damage than you can get it treated by arthroscopy surgeon. If you wish than you cans share his MRI report with me also. I will try my best to help you.
Thanks
