What Causes Swelling On Feet After An Electric Shock?

My mother was shocked by an electric fence about an hour ago. she remembers reaching the fence and the next thing she knew, she way laying on the ground. Her feet are now swollen and she can barely walk. I can t see any signs of burns. She is fighting me on going to the ER.

Hi.

It could have been an injury while falling down, possibly an injury to the leg(s), but there is also a chance of the current causing the swelling mainly because of the blood being pulled in a certain direction. I do not really see any serious cause for concern, and do believe it should settle on its own after about 48 hours or so. but you can also choose to take her to the hospital.

Best wishes.
