What Causes Swelling On Neck And Cheek With Tooth Pain?

Hi, I have been to a doctor who prescribed me 500mg capsules of Flucloxacillin to be taken 4 times a day for days as i had a swelling in the right part of my neck and cheek, that has cleared however today the left side of my face is swollen under my ear and cheek and seems to be tougher and my tooth has started to hurt next to the swelling. I have 3 days worth of flucloxacillin left and dont know what to do now... do i carry on taking them or do i go to a&e

thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. the pain and swelling could be secondary to tooth infection or gum infection around the tooth. you consult a oral physician and take radiograph to rule out any decay or infection. later you can go for either filling or removal of the respective tooth. you need to take metronidazole and penicillin which is most effective in odontogenic infection. do saline gargling. do not apply pressure over the swelling by touching it. i hope my answer will help you. take care.
