Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.

Following are the causes of swelling on chest:
Tietze syndrome, abscess, lymphadenitis, aneurysm(rare)

As the swelling has become painful so i would suggest you to visit hospital where ultrasound of the swelling can be done followed by evaluation by surgeon. If he feels necessary then he will perform biopsy to confirm he diagnosis. Meanwhile for pain he can take acetaminophen.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow
up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Wishing him good health.
