What Causes Swollen Elbow After Having Back Surgery?

I have had a swollen painful elbow for about a week. There was no injury to the location. Its very painful to bend arm, or just touching the elbow. The elbow bone looks three times the size of my other arm. Some heat can be felt, just recently my thumb started swelling and light pain and tingling.. I had a major back surgery about 6 hrs ago,which including a spinal cord injury and spinal fusion of the lower back. Midline paralysis of the genital, buttox, and anus region, causing permanent self - catheter use. I am a 31 yr old male. What could this problem with my elbow, and when should I seek a Dr?

I think the sewlling and pain in elbow and thumb is due abnormal pressure on that region due to positioning at the time of surgery. Or place ment of intravenous line at elbow region. Just use ice pac application 3 times a day. It will improve in day or two.
