What Causes Swollen Feet In A Person With Heart Failure?

I have congestive heart failure. Lately my feet have been swelling and I am coughing constantly. Is it OK to take 2-10mg Laxix pills a day rather than 1? I also take Metoprolol, 75 mg, twice a day, Lisinopril, 10 mg twice a day, Plavix, 75 mg once a day, Crestor, 20 mg once at night, and 325mg aspirin, twice a day. I also take several other medications not related to my heart.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Due to congestive heart failure fluid collects in the lungs and dependent part like feet producing oedema.
This is due to back flow and retention of fluid due to weak cardiac muscles.
You can take more dose of lasix but it is advisable to consult your treating doctor before increasing the dose.
Take less fluids and less salt.
Ok and take care.
