What Causes Swollen Feet While Suffering From Salmonella E.coli Infection?

My Grandad is 94 and has just been dishcarged from hopsital after suffering from salmonela E coli, he his now at home being care for but has very swollen feet and legs which are seeping water which happened to my Nan before she passed away, is it his kidneys?

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Swelling in legs is a sign of chronic cardiac failure.
2. Limb elevation in lying down position should reduce swelling. Kidney problem presents with swelling in the face.
3. Further if not reduced, diuretics may be necessary.
