What Causes Swollen Testicle After Hernia Surgery?
had hernia surgery may 11 and today have slightly swollen testicle and tube to it.. pain was almost gone this morning but now have pain and scar feel hard. saw doctor on may 17 and all looked great at that time.. should pain have gotten worse today? haven't lifted anything heavy since the surgery.
Hi. Every surgery produces a scar. The scar becomes tight and narrow with time. The underlying edema can enhance this effect. This may be the reason you are getting edema / swelling in the testicle and the pain. Another reason for pain is entrapment of the nerves in the scar tissue. All these problems can settle with time and may not need an active treatment. IF the problem persists or worsens Surgeon can undo the tightness by small release incisions. Please consult your Surgeon or take another opinion.
