What Causes Swollen Welts Under Armpit Post Sarcoma Removal From Forearm?

Hi, my boyfriend who is. 62 recently had a sarcoma removed on his forearm. Seven visible stitches plus dissolvable. Now over the last 10 days he has developed, only under his left arm pit, three swollen welts. The results of the biopsy said that he the carcinoma had not spread anywhere, as margins that were removed around it were clear. I have asked him to see the surgeon again, but he is ignoring my requests.

It is a common for people to avoid doctor is such situations. You are right to be worried about the nodes in the arm pit. I would suggest talking to him about this matter and asking him why he does not want to see the surgeon. Talk to him and listen to him patiently. This way you can understand his concerns in a much better way and address them. An appointment with the surgeon is of utmost importance.

I would again stess on listening to him patiently and addressing his concerns. This can be hard for both of you but you need to be strong for him. Tell him the significance of early diagnosis. There is a real some possibility that those nodes are not linked with carcinoma but ignoring them is a very big risk. They need to be biopsied to get the precise diagnosis.
