What Causes Symptoms Of Frequent Urination And Failure To Empty Bladder?

I am 53 years old. I had a TURP procudere one year ago. Results where great. After six month it was like suddenly somebody turned off the tap. Sudden reduction in urinary flow, failure to empty the bladder and the increased sensation of a need urinate reoccured in an instance.

My urologist performed a cystoscopy which revealed the presence of scar tissue in the urethra. I recently underwent another operation 2 month ago to remove the tissue from the urethra. After the latest operation my symptons of frequent urination, failure to empty my bladder have not been resolved. What might be the cause of my reoccuring systems and most of all what might be the solutions?

Urologist 's  Response
hi, you may have developed a stricture in your urinary passage (urethra), which can recur even after cystoscopy and dilatation. It may require repeated dilatation on out-patient basis or self-dilatation can be learned. You can also have narrowing of your bladder neck (site of prostate surgery) which can occur due to excessive healing of the scar. consult your urologist.
