What Causes Tenderness/aches In Arm With History Of An Arm Injury?

I broke the bone in my lower arm in a car accident (from the air bag). Since the bone was displaced the doctor put a metal plate in my arm. This was about 4 years ago. Lately the area has been tender to the touch. I don t have a bruise and I take advil a couple times a day because my arm aches. I am a special education teacher so I am constantly using my arms an hands to steady and work with my students. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you are operated for your lower arm bone fractures by metal plate. It was operated 4years back. Now you are having some pain in your arm and area is tender to touch. You need not to worry much . Few days of antiinflamatory drug such as diclofenac will settle the pain. If pain persist more than 15days then you can consult orthopedic surgeon. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
