What Causes The Groin Area To Smell Like Honey?

Thank you. I am a 65 year old woman. Am taking low dose estrogen pills, if that matters. My groin area smells like honey. This smell is not in my armpits or in my palms or on my breath. Can you tell me why my groin has started to smell like honey ?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Probably you may overuse deodorant or abnormal growth of bacteria in the vagina in bacterial vaginosis may cause above symptoms. Also check for diabetes,amino aciduria etc. Use tablet.Meyronidazole thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
