What Causes The Sensitivity To Light In A 2 Year Old?

My 2 1/2 yr old daughter complains its too bright a lot, mostly in the morning. When she was a baby here eyes teared and the doctor mentioned the possibility of probing the tear duct. As she got older, we decided not to do it. Here eyes don t tear anymore. She recently had tubes put in her ears a few months ago. Coincidently, it seems as though this sensitivity/pain to light started after her tubes were put in. Any thoughts? We re getting tire of eating breakfast in the dark! Thanks.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to Hcm,
That's a sad situation. She has something similar to photophobia which means increased sensitivity to light. Its obviously not normal but hard to tell its secondary to tube placements. If I were your pediatrician, I would refer your child immediately to an ophthalmologist for a complete evaluation. I hope your child gets well soon. Take care.
