I had a hysterectomy 6 weeks ago today.Everything is great.But,I urinate on myself sometimes and it smells like amonia.No pain ,No burning,No discomfort what so ever.I haven't seen dissolved stiches yet either.But if the stitches are white and toilet paper is white ,I wouldn't of seen them right?I am white female 42 yrs old.Cervix and uteris removed laperscopically.
Normal urine has ammonia content and it is a byproduct of protein metabolism . so usually urine smell a little bit like ammonia, and this smell is enhanced by the urine being more concentrated. Sometimes urine smells stronger when there has been a change in your diet.
pathologically common causes of the ammonia smell in urine are diabetes, liver disorders metabolic disorders, sexually transmitted diseases, medications, vitamins.
kindly take more 3 to 4 litre of water and assess the same smell of strong ammonia is there. if it still persist kindly approach your treating physician to do basic investigation like urine routine and culture.
