Hi I am asking for help, I have had a Carpal Tunnel open surgery last month , before the surgery I did not have atrohpy of the Thenar Muscles, and after the surgery when the main bandage was removed about a week after the surgery the Thenar Muscles collapsed or totally wasted, so there was no muscle or pad left between the skin and the bones at the base of the thumb, and has not come back, had another CTS test and there is no reading from the area none, please what can be done as the surgeon that carried out the surgery will not talk to me since the last CTS test.

Hi
This seems a serious issue, which needs further investigation.Do you have numbness and tingling sensation in index and middle finger which was not there earlier ?
This could be due to handling of median nerve during carpal tunnel surgery .
Just discuss with your treating doctor.
Get well soon .
