I have burning and numbness in my left thigh area. The burning comes on suddenly and will subside after 5 to 10 minutes, the numbness never goes away. At first in only happening maybe 1 to 2 times a month but now it is more like 1 to 2 times per week.

There can be two conditions which can cause such burning. First condition is nerve compression in thigh and second is vitamin B 12 deficiency.
I would suggest you to get examine by a orthopedic surgeon. If there is nerve compression, also called meralgia parasthetica, you need steroid injection and treatment for this.
If there is no mechanical compression than you need to take methylcobal and pregabalin tablet.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
Thanks.
