What Causes Three Bumps That Is Noticed On Neck, jawline & Shoulder?

My two year old daughter has three bumps, one bigger than the other two, that look as though they might be part of a vein or at least near her major blood vessels in her neck. They pop out when she is laughing, otherwise are difficult to see. They are on the right side of her neck, about halfway between her jawline and her shoulder.

hi,

thanks for your question. from what you describe this appearance sounds entirely normal and is simply the vein filling with blood when the pressure in the chest goes up with coughing or laughing. the bumps you describe are likely the valves in the vein.

I hope this reassures you and answers your question.

best wishes
