What Causes Throbbing In My Gums That Radiates To Jaw, Cheeks And Temples?

I feel an all over throbbing/pulsating in my gums. I think I suffer from TMJ as the pain seems to radiate at night into my jaw, cheekbone and temple. I have a poor bite and suffer from earache a lot but no at present. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello!

I suggest you to go for a OPG (a full mouth xray) and correct any periodontal issues. You will require scaling to full mouth rootplanning depending on the clinical and radiological assessment.
Take a soft splint. This will reduce the stress due to night grinding.

If it still persists , then you must consider taking a MRI for the tmj pain.

I mean you must rule out any local gum problems before you think of a TMJ pain.
Regards.
