What Causes Throbbing Pain And Pressure In Chest Area?

32 years old, 5 4 , 233lbs. Having a throbbing pain in chest area. Hard for me to eat food without being nauseated. I had a check from my doctor. My lungs and heart is find. The doctor believes its the feeding tube ( esophagus ) that is giving me problems. I was prescribed omparazole 40mg. I have been on it for three days. I also take magic mouthwash ( swish and swallow ). I still can not hold down solid foods with out being nauseated. I also have pressure build up in the chest area, with throbbing pains that can start of lite feeling and increase to a harder throbbing pain. I was wondering could there be something wrong with my esophagus. Because sometimes it feels like food get stuck in my throat.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Seems more likely to be related with the underlying stress and anxiety disorder, though a thorough clinical examination is required to rule out costochondritis possibility.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
